Anthony Batista is a New York–based photographer and director known for cinematic, emotionally charged portraiture that bridges fashion, celebrity, and modern advertising.
Born in West Palm Beach and raised in Buenos Aires, Batista developed an early visual language shaped by magazines, film, and music culture. As a third culture kid, imagery became a way of understanding identity, an influence that continues to define his work.
His path into photography began in New York after studying acting and performing at The People’s Improv Theater. What started as an invitation into a fashion studio quickly evolved into a full commitment to image making.
Batista built his foundation from the ground up, working across film, commercial, and music productions, developing a deep command of lighting and camera systems. He later operated camera on live productions featuring some of the biggest names in music, refining both his technical precision and on-set presence.
Today, Batista brings a director’s sensibility to his work, combining sculptural, high-end lighting with a performance-driven approach. Drawing on his background in acting and years immersed in New York’s creative and nightlife scenes, he is known for creating an environment where subjects feel at ease and deliver something real.
His images balance polish with intimacy, resulting in work that feels both elevated and human.
